The vaulted ceilings of Chartres Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady of Chartres (in French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Chartres) take your breath away. In the midst of a decade long renovation, the white ceiling restores the majesty of the building as created. This restoration has proved controversial in architectural circles, but as a visitor, the pristine beauty of the restored ceiling is undeniable.
About Liz Albro
