"Blind from the flash I'm frozen in time
Everything was perfect, everything was right
Now I'm lost in the world, all the colors seem wrong"
From the song "Summer Forgets Me" by Deas Vail
An illustration of this lyric shot in the midst of COVID-19. Shot at midafternoon so as to capture the sunburst. The sky is brilliant blue and the leaves are spring green. But here with some after processing, the colors are wrong, and there is a flash.
A scientist learning to embrace herself as an artist. Behind my lens, I slow down and frame the world. Living and working in the DC metro area, it is easy to speed through my day. With my camera in hand, I pause, compose, recompose, and capture the details and wonders of our daily lives. My photography is embedded in the DMV, but extends beyond the mid-Atlantic as I travel around the world. The images that I love the most feature the green spaces of our world, whether in our secret garden or along a shoreline or in cities across the globe. I am thrilled to share my passion with you and hope you will join me on my visual journey.
